We had a lovely and curious visitor to the studio yesterday, Mike Jean-Baptiste! Mike is one of our valued Headshots Matter members based in Montreal. He came to visit, learn, and, as it turned out, spend a few moments in front of the camera too. :)
In addition to running a thriving headshot studio in Montreal, Mike is a proud dad and a devoted family man with a soft and humble heart. His lifelong passion for art and curiosity about the world has shaped his journey as a portrait photographer. Mike’s work reflects his thoughtful approach, capturing authentic moments and helping people feel seen in their best light.
Mike also appreciates the art and craft of analogue photography and is drawn to the timeless and tactile process it brings to his creative work. Recently, he’s been exploring the world of film portraits, embracing the unique challenges and rewards of working with this medium. True to his thoughtful and curious nature, Mike brought his film camera to the studio and even took a portrait of me—a kind and unexpected gesture. Watching him work was a reminder of his dedication to continually honing his craft, experimenting, and finding new ways to tell stories through his images!
Great to spend some time working with you, Mike!
Cheers, Dwayne.
